River Glen

2023 River Glen Homeowners Association Annual Meeting is Tuesday Sept. 26 at 7:00 pm in the Community Building, 9094 E. 131st St.

The River Glen Board met for its regular meeting on Tuesday Sept. 12. Topics included:

  • Dean Chaney was appointed to fill the open board position formerly held by Linda Jones, who moved away. He plans to also continue to serve as block captain for Wolffe Drive.
  • The Board is continuing to meet with the mayor to discuss the upcoming plans to reconfigure 116th Street and Allisonville into a roundabout. The city is listening to our concerns over traffic through our neighborhood and various ideas are being considered.
  • The dues will not increase in 2024.
  • Treasurer Randy Nail reported our finances are in good shape. He suggested taking some of our cash reserves and investing in a certificate of deposit at Forum Credit Union, an action the Board approved.
  • The proposed restaurant south of the funeral home at the entrance to River Glen from Allisonville has asked for a zoning change from C-1 to C-3. The Board opposes the rezoning because it would allow for other types of businesses in the future, such as a gas station. It likely will come up for a vote at the October City Council meeting.
  • Landscaping Chair Rita Bodwell advises that Duke Energy will be trimming trees soon along the power lines on 116th Street.
  • The final Board meeting of 2023 will be Nov. 14 at 7:00 pm at the Delaware Township Government building, 9091 E. 131st St.
